Brocante & Marché aux Puces – Bergerac
Bergerac’s traditional monthly brocante and flea market, held around the beautiful Notre-Dame church in the centre of town.
Browse stalls selling antiques, vintage pieces, collectables, furniture, decorative objects and all manner of French curiosities.
Held on the first Sunday of every month.
From Le Petit Capelier: Bergerac is approximately 25–30 minutes’ drive from the house. The brocante makes a lovely Sunday morning outing — browse for vintage French treasures, stop for coffee or lunch in the old town, and perhaps combine it with a stroll along the Dordogne riverfront before heading home.
Planning your stay around local events
There is always something happening around Le Petit Capelier. Issigeac’s famous Sunday market takes over the medieval village every week, while Bergerac, Eymet, Villeréal and Castillonnès host regular markets, brocantes, concerts, exhibitions and festivals throughout the year.
During the summer, look out for marchés gourmands and village fêtes, where long communal tables, local food, Bergerac wines and live music make for wonderfully relaxed evenings. The vineyards around Monbazillac and Bergerac also host tastings, concerts and special events throughout the season.
We update this calendar regularly as new events are announced, including some of the smaller local happenings that can be surprisingly difficult to discover online.
