Castillones Market
A traditional Tuesday morning market in the heart of the beautiful bastide town of Castillonnès, with local produce, food, flowers and market stalls filling the historic centre.
From Le Petit Capelier: Castillonnès is an easy 10-minute drive from the house to the south, making its traditional Tuesday market a lovely morning trip during your stay. Wander through the bastide, stop for coffee or lunch, then head home for an afternoon to relax.
Planning your stay around local events
There is always something happening around Le Petit Capelier. Issigeac’s famous Sunday market takes over the medieval village every week, while Bergerac, Eymet, Villeréal and Castillonnès host regular markets, brocantes, concerts, exhibitions and festivals throughout the year.
During the summer, look out for marchés gourmands and village fêtes, where long communal tables, local food, Bergerac wines and live music make for wonderfully relaxed evenings. The vineyards around Monbazillac and Bergerac also host tastings, concerts and special events throughout the season.
