L’Été Actif is a programme of activities organised by the Dordogne Departmental Council in partnership with the Grand Périgueux, with the ambitious aim of offering sport for everyone, everywhere in the Dordogne.
In 2026, a packed programme awaits you in the Greater Périgueux area: whether you’re on your own, with friends or with family, this is your chance to enjoy a wide range of physical and sporting activities, as well as cultural and outdoor leisure pursuits.

Wildlife tracking is a nature discovery activity that invites you to observe and interpret the traces left by wildlife. Accompanied by a guide, participants learn to recognise tracks, signs and habitats. A fun and educational experience to gain a better understanding of local biodiversity. Planning your stay around local events

There is always something happening around Le Petit Capelier. Issigeac’s famous Sunday market takes over the medieval village every week, while Bergerac, Eymet, Villeréal and Castillonnès host regular markets, brocantes, concerts, exhibitions and festivals throughout the year.

During the summer, look out for marchés gourmands and village fêtes, where long communal tables, local food, Bergerac wines and live music make for wonderfully relaxed evenings. The vineyards around Monbazillac and Bergerac also host tastings, concerts and special events throughout the season.

We update this calendar regularly as new events are announced, including some of the smaller local happenings that can be surprisingly difficult to discover online.

Staying at Le Petit Capelier? Check the calendar before you arrive — or subscribe to it — and you’ll always have ideas for what to do during your stay in the Dordogne.
