Eymet Classic & Collectable Cars

Classic & collectable car gathering
The official Dordogne Périgord Tourism listing confirms the 13 September date, 09:00–13:00 hours and Place Gambetta location. The gathering is organised by L’Écurie Culum Vitae and normally takes place on the second Sunday of the month.
Spend a Sunday morning among classic and collectable cars in the beautiful bastide town of Eymet, where enthusiasts bring their cherished vehicles together on Place Gambetta.
The monthly Rassemblement de voitures anciennes & de collection is less a formal motor show than a relaxed local gathering — a chance to wander around the cars, talk to their owners and see an ever-changing selection of interesting machinery against the backdrop of Eymet’s historic centre.
It’s particularly easy to combine with a morning exploring Eymet itself. The gathering takes place right in the village, within walking distance of the tourist office and the arcaded bastide centre.
For guests staying at Le Petit Capelier, we’d suggest arriving during the morning, enjoying the cars and then lingering in Eymet for coffee or lunch.
And there’s more to do that Sunday
There’s actually a useful bonus I’ve found while checking the date. Sunday 13 September is a particularly good day to visit the Eymet area.
A vide-grenier at Saint-Capraise-d’Eymet runs from 07:00–14:00, with refreshments and food available. So guests who enjoy both old cars and rummaging for French treasures could easily combine the two.
There are also two art exhibitions in Eymet itself on their final day: Pascaline Simard’s painting exhibition and Bouquet de Femmes, featuring Véronique Liquard and Paothi. Both have free admission.
Planning your stay around local events
There is always something happening around Le Petit Capelier. Issigeac’s famous Sunday market takes over the medieval village every week, while Bergerac, Eymet, Villeréal and Castillonnès host regular markets, brocantes, concerts, exhibitions and festivals throughout the year.
During the summer, look out for marchés gourmands and village fêtes, where long communal tables, local food, Bergerac wines and live music make for wonderfully relaxed evenings. The vineyards around Monbazillac and Bergerac also host tastings, concerts and special events throughout the season.
We update this calendar regularly as new events are announced, including some of the smaller local happenings that can be surprisingly difficult to discover online.
Staying at Le Petit Capelier? Check the calendar before you arrive — or subscribe to it — and you’ll always have ideas for what to do during your stay in the Dordogne.
