Les 24h de la biodiversité

October 18 @ 2:00 pm

It all starts with water.
The water we take for granted, yet which reminds us every year of its vulnerability.

These 24 Hours of Biodiversity were born from a simple conviction: art and culture cannot be separated from life. Seeing the world differently also means learning to look at our rivers, our birds, our soil—the things that surround us every day and that we eventually stop noticing.

This unique event offers a collective experience throughout Eymet and the surrounding villages. Walks along the riverbanks, outdoor performances, screenings, exhibitions, participatory workshops, gatherings, family-friendly activities… For 24 hours, water becomes the common thread of a collective exploration.

Planning your stay around local events

There is always something happening around Le Petit Capelier. Issigeac’s famous Sunday market takes over the medieval village every week, while Bergerac, Eymet, Villeréal and Castillonnès host regular markets, brocantes, concerts, exhibitions and festivals throughout the year.

During the summer, look out for marchés gourmands and village fêtes, where long communal tables, local food, Bergerac wines and live music make for wonderfully relaxed evenings. The vineyards around Monbazillac and Bergerac also host tastings, concerts and special events throughout the season.

We update this calendar regularly as new events are announced, including some of the smaller local happenings that can be surprisingly difficult to discover online.

Staying at Le Petit Capelier? Check the calendar before you arrive — or subscribe to it — and you’ll always have ideas for what to do during your stay in the Dordogne.
