There’s a rather special reason to head into Bergerac this Halloween. Petit Biscuit, one of France’s best-known electronic artists, comes to L’Espace Étincelle for a major electro night on Saturday 31 October.
Behind the name Petit Biscuit is Mehdi Benjelloun, the French producer, DJ and multi-instrumentalist whose atmospheric combination of electronica, pop and live instrumentation has taken him from Normandy to stages around the world.
From classical music to French electro
Born in Rouen in 1999, Benjelloun began playing cello at just five years old, later adding piano and guitar before starting to experiment with electronic music and beats while still a child.
He was only a teenager when his music began attracting serious attention online. His breakthrough came with the dreamy “Sunset Lover”, released in 2015 and subsequently becoming an international hit.
His self-titled Petit Biscuit EP followed, and by the age of 17 he was already touring internationally.
His first full-length album, Presence, arrived in 2017, blending ambient electronica, house, techno and contemporary pop with the classical influences of his musical upbringing. The album earned him a nomination at France’s prestigious Victoires de la Musique.
His second album, Parachute, followed in 2020, with Petit Biscuit increasingly incorporating his own voice alongside electronic production and live instrumentation.
His live career has meanwhile taken him far beyond France, including appearances at internationally renowned festivals such as Coachella and Lollapalooza, as well as major French festivals and arena dates.
And he is very much a current artist rather than simply returning to his early hits: in May 2026 he released the 15-track album Movement, the latest stage in a career that began when he was still at school.

That makes his appearance in Bergerac something of a coup.
On Halloween night – Saturday 31 October – L’Espace Étincelle hosts a special Soirée Electro with Petit Biscuit, beginning at 20:00.
Expect an atmospheric mix of electronic music, melodic house, sweeping synths and the dreamlike sound that made Sunset Lover such an international success – but with the energy of a proper live electronic show.
