Christine Bovill in Concert — Doudrac

October 2 @ 7:30 pm - October 3 @ 10:30 pm
€15
Christine Bovill in concert at Église de Doudrac, 2 and 3 October 2026

Acclaimed Scottish singer Christine Bovill comes to the beautiful village church at Doudrac for two intimate evenings of French chanson, accompanied by Stanley Hanks on piano.

Bovill is particularly celebrated for her interpretations of Édith Piaf and the great French chanson tradition. Her award-winning shows have taken her from sell-out performances at the Edinburgh Fringe to stages internationally, and she has appeared on BBC television and radio. She has also performed with Charles Dumont, composer of Piaf’s legendary Non, je ne regrette rien.

These two Doudrac concerts offer the rather special opportunity to hear an internationally acclaimed performer in the intimate surroundings of a small rural French church.

Tickets: €15
Limited seating — advance booking strongly recommended.

Planning your stay around local events

There is always something happening around Le Petit Capelier. Issigeac’s famous Sunday market takes over the medieval village every week, while Bergerac, Eymet, Villeréal and Castillonnès host regular markets, brocantes, concerts, exhibitions and festivals throughout the year.

During the summer, look out for marchés gourmands and village fêtes, where long communal tables, local food, Bergerac wines and live music make for wonderfully relaxed evenings. The vineyards around Monbazillac and Bergerac also host tastings, concerts and special events throughout the season.

We update this calendar regularly as new events are announced, including some of the smaller local happenings that can be surprisingly difficult to discover online.
